STATE CHAPTERS CHAIRMAN
REPORT :
(edited)
State Chapter
Representative Pete Giambalvo has announced the
appointment of FCM Robert Mays as New England States
Chapter Representative. Congratulations to
Robert and we wish him the best serving our organization. Robert can be
reached at PO Box 34, Sheldon, VT 05483, Ph: 802-933-5921, Email: rmays@sover.net.
In the 2 years that I
have been chairman, I have appointed 5 new State Chapter
Representatives. We are now fully represented by 14 State Chapter
Rrepresentatives.
This past year we had 5
Mini reunions. Next year we are asking Chapter Representatives to
have their Mini reunions planned so as not to interfere with the annual reunion
which will be at Pensacola, FL in
October.
We have scheduled 2005
reunions in January (Charleston, SC), June (In the Great Lakes area), and
a possible March reunion in Oklahoma.
As time goes by
our membership is shrinking at an alarming rate. We have an urgent need to
bring in FCMs to our organization. Remember, we are the only ones who can keep
the memory of our ship alive. I have recruited 17 new members in the last
3 months. Please take it upon yourselves to recruit new
members.
May
I take this time to wish all of you a great Thanksgiving and a Happy Holiday
Season.
Pete Giambalvo, State Chapters
Chairman

FLAG PROGRAM :

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Very interesting indeed...
A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago and
totaled her car. It was raining, though not excessive, when her car suddenly
began to hydroplane and literally flew through the air. She was not
seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence!
When she explained to a highway patrolman what had happened
he told her something that every driver should know -NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON. She had thought she was being cautious by setting
the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain. But the
highway patrolman told her that if the cruise control is on and your car begins
to hydroplane - when your tires lose contact with the pavement - your car will
accelerate to a higher rate of speed and you take off like an air plane.. She
told the patrolman that was exactly what had occurred.
We all know you have little or no control over a car when
it begins to hydroplane. The highway patrol estimated her car was actually
traveling through the air at 10 to 15 miles per hour faster than the speed set
on the cruise control.
The patrolman
said this warning should be listed, on the drivers seat sun-visor - NEVER
USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR ICY - along with the airbag
warning.

CBS Report
Keep a watch out for people standing
near you in the checkout line at retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, etc
who have a camera cell phone in hand. With the camera cell phones, they can take
a picture of your credit card, which gives them your name, number, and
expiration date. CBS reported this type of identification theft is one of the
fastest growing scams today. Be aware of your surroundings, forward to all your
friends and family.
---------------------------------------------------------
The
Americans who support our troops, are a silent
majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, nor to reflect
what our opinions are.
A grassroots
movement by the membership of the Special Operations Association,
and Special Forces Associations, and all their friends has been started, simply,
to recognize that Americans support our troops.
If the local
VFWs, American Legion, our local press, and local TV,
can be notified to continue carrying the message to the national levels as
this is started to get this going, it would certainly help.
The idea of showing
our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday, and
continuing on each and every Friday until this is over, that every red-blooded
American who supports our young men and women, WEAR
SOMETHING RED.
Either by word of
mouth, press, TV...they would like to see if we can make the United
States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a
University.
If all
organizational memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow
workers, friends, and neighbors, it is guaranteed that it will not be long
before the USA will be covered in RED, and make our troops know there are
many people thinking of their well-being.
Let's get the word
out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

THE LIGHTER SIDE :
Late one
night in Washington, a mugger wearing a ski mask jumped into
the path of a well-dressed man and stuck a gun in his ribs. "Give
me your money," he demanded. Indignant, the affluent man replied, "You
can't do this...I'm a U.S. congressman!" "In that case," the robber said, "give me my
money."
